So what's scarier than a stoic killer?
"Hnhnhnnhnhn..."
He should have been more cautious. But he could never bring himself to care about his wellbeing, for whatever reason.
"Hnhnhnahahahahah..."
What lurks in the shadows of this maze grins like a demon, with eyes that shine as brightly as one as well. Like the gleam on his scimitar, and on the gem at his brow, hair askew to the side thanks to what placed him in this state. He has no glasses. The gem repairs his sight just as much as it damages his judgement. And while the plants which struck him in the end and filled his lungs with gas are now shredded on the ground, the damage is done.
He grins.
The walls shift at random. What's more, you find, if you move one way, the body moves the other.
This one doesn't seem to mind. This one adapted--made changes. He found a way.
And if your face looks like Yuuya's, it's not going to end well as a result.
"HHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAAAA-!"

"LET ME TO MY TARGET...!" he roars, seemingly unaffected as he brings his blade toward the woman.

She moves towards him to meet his attack head on, knowing that instead she would instead be forced back. She does so, moving in a circle around him, leaving a trail of ice in her wake until there's a ring of ice surrounding the floor around him.
And then, suddenly without warning, spikes jut out from the sheet ice still coating the ground. She was hoping to block him off, or perhaps even spear a limb or two, but it really all depends on how fast he's moving, or how well he can anticipate the ice lining on the floor to be a trap.]

The rushing air blows his hair back, and one can see that gem glowing fiercely, pulsing, like a battery...]
no subject
A severed icicle is caught in her hand, and immediately she ends up wielding it, reinforcing it with more ice from her glove. Narrowing her eyes, she focuses on the light glinting from his forehead, the one unusual aspect of him she doesn't recall there being before. She steadies herself, and braces for his charge at the place she thinks he'll most likely come down.]
no subject
Will crack.
crikkhk-
And in that moment his eyes widen and clear, the stone losing its glow.
no subject
Thankfully for him, the icicle also shatters on contact with it, or it would have driven itself halfway through his brain if she had anything to say about it. When it does break, however, she leaps back, wary. She doesn't have anything to confirm her suspicions that this gem is the source of their conflict, and she braces herself for him to charge again.]

AAUKK...
[It takes a moment. He stumbles, almost drunkenly thanks to the effects of the chamber's trap, and suddenly the gem's glow is fiercer than ever before.] AAAU... AAUUUUUUHHHHHHHHKKKK-!
[And as he clutches his head he screams, clawing at it before charging the nearest wall like a maddened bull. There is a loud crack as he slams it against the stone, the gem chipping. And another crack, followed by shattering stone before he falls back under the force of what could well be described as an explosion. A spurt of fire and ice twisting up into the air amid the sound of elderly cackling, before it at last mists away...
And the frame for the gem clatters to the ground, leaving the gerudo to heave and attempt to regain his thoughs.]
no subject
The gem is gone. Her double is heaving on the floor. She remains, waiting.]

"..where..."
He tries to stand, and looks at his hands. "...When..."
no subject
[But his other question...she has no idea.]
You came attacking us straight out. Aiming for Sakaki, specifically.
[She narrows her eyes. No mercy for the weary, apparently.]
Why?
no subject
[He manages to stand, looking over his arm with a clearly bewhildered frown.] ...I was at the Desert Collosus... ...my grandmothers captured me while Yuuya, in my world, was inside...
...But... [He briefly brings the hand to his throat.] ...I did not sound like this... ...I was not...
[Excuse him, for a moment.
He has years of memory that are missing now.]
no subject
You were much, much younger when we saw you last.
no subject
Oh dear.
"..." He spies the gem frame on the ground, picking it up. "...This looks like one of theirs," he mutters, clenching his fist. "...How could I have been that blind... ...Of course they would come after anyone against Leo..."
no subject
[That name. That man.]
no subject
"...I... ...Though he raised me for at least half of my life, I could not agree with this.
"...So I sought an artifact that our ancestors had hidden away in the Desert Collosus; while there it seemed another was doing the same--Yuuya, a boy in green from Hyrule's forests. ...He looked barely older than I had been when I was brought to the desert. ...And somehow he already knew of Leo--and of his crimes.
"...I needed help to get through that temple; so once I was sure whose side he was on, I helped him in so that he could in turn help me. ...But my grandmothers... ...Leo's mother...
"...They are powerful sorceresses--and I underestimated how powerful. ...The most I knew was that they were using their magic for Leo's gain... ...I suppose... ...this is one of those things."
He acts more like his younger self, really. Sounds more like it too, despite the age.
It's eerie. ...It's even perhaps 'wrong'.
no subject
What did they do to you?
no subject
"I don't remember."
It can't be right. It can't be, because she's no different but. "...When is this..."
no subject
It's merely been a few weeks since we last saw you. You must have been sent back to your time, somehow.
[But that explanation doesn't satisfy her, and they both know it. It doesn't explain the missing memories.]
no subject
Indeed it doesn't. It explains nothing, and the confusion is etched into his expression. "...So then why am I taller..?" Stronger as well... Older, really, is the word he wants to avoid, his blurred vision leaving his eyes to wander between fuzzy details of his figure.
"...It would take...at least seven years for this..." He holds his hair clip and trembles.
no subject
[Forced to grow up too fast, is it...]
I couldn't say. There's something else at work, perhaps. Or a result of whatever they'd done to you...
no subject
"...Fire, ice...that's their forte, but my grandmothers were capable of fusing their entire beings into a single one. ...That was how my father came to be." ...Oh wow he actually has two grandmothers biologically on that side then. Well.
"From teleportation to immortality, to mind c...." And it is here that his eyes widen with horror, and he drops the clip.
Mind control.
For years.
no subject
Mind control.
[She's able to complete that sentence easily: after all, one of the first things she'd been told on the island was that someone who'd taken control of the mockery of LDS here had mind control powers. That doesn't take away the impact of the revelation, however.]
No wonder you remember...nothing.
no subject
"...And what have I been doing, then?" he finally questions, attempting to remain calm. "Where are we now, then?"
no subject
no subject
...
"...I suppose they had my vision charmed as well..." Hah. Figures. "...I can't see..."
