So what's scarier than a stoic killer?
"Hnhnhnnhnhn..."
He should have been more cautious. But he could never bring himself to care about his wellbeing, for whatever reason.
"Hnhnhnahahahahah..."
What lurks in the shadows of this maze grins like a demon, with eyes that shine as brightly as one as well. Like the gleam on his scimitar, and on the gem at his brow, hair askew to the side thanks to what placed him in this state. He has no glasses. The gem repairs his sight just as much as it damages his judgement. And while the plants which struck him in the end and filled his lungs with gas are now shredded on the ground, the damage is done.
He grins.
The walls shift at random. What's more, you find, if you move one way, the body moves the other.
This one doesn't seem to mind. This one adapted--made changes. He found a way.
And if your face looks like Yuuya's, it's not going to end well as a result.
"HHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAAAA-!"

Don't think about it don't think about it, that person can't be here, can they? But what if he is, he's come back to hurt him, take his energy and it's all Yuuya can think about when he stops, staring straight ahead, and not moving except for the shallow breaths of someone who was probably about to have a panic attack.
no subject
Sakaki. [Her voice is low, gentle.] Can you hear me...? What is it?
no subject
"This could get messy," he whispers, likely for Crow to hear.
...
Very messy.... He looks to the shredded plants on the ground and swallows. "...Those are the same plants from Yuuri's 'Academia'..." Erk.
"...They'd have had laughing gasses..." More erk.
no subject
"O-Oi, what exactly is this?"
Now he's not so confident in his ability to do well in this maze. He has no weapons or talents that would be useful to fight whatever the fuck that is.
no subject
"I... It's that voice..." Yuuya whimpers, tears in his eyes. "It sounds like him."
He attempts to take a deep, shuddering breath, and bursts out crying instead.
no subject
That man. He was here.
But also here is Sakaki, starting to cry, and she has to hold off on dashing off for vengeance. Not when the results of his actions are right here in front of her, not when she also has her responsibility for making those things right again.]
Shh. Don't listen. We won't let him get you again.
[Her hands go to his ears, and a thin layer of ice starts to form. Not directly on his skin-that would be too cold for him-but enough to act as earplugs, hopefully.]
no subject
He swallows, squinting ahead and whispering. "...Get his eyes too," he says softly.
"...That's not Leo." It's not deep enough--maybe Reiji can't tell like this, particularly not when her other doubles are similarly altered in vocals, but...
That.
He knows that 'laugh', even if it was never as manic as this. "...Watch for shadows." Literal ones.
no subject
And why was Yuuya crying? Where was that voice coming from and why all of a sudden? Just to be safe, he hangs back slightly behind Reiji and Hatsu. They could do more than he could in this situation, it seemed.
... He's suddenly thankful that if he dies he'll just come back.
no subject
He can't hear the laughter anymore, but it's still haunting, and it takes him to a time when someone was trying to rip into his head and his body and hurt him.
no subject
That man or no, we have to deal with him quickly.
no subject
And the sound of a blade, scraping against the ground...

no subject
She's not afraid of seeing a copy of something twisted so much into her father. She's not.
Wordlessly, she sends one of her ice mirrors inching ahead.]
no subject
"Nhnhnhahaha...hhHAHAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHAaaaaa..." And he is coming. "Come out...come out...forest child..."
Hatsu narrows his eyes at the sound. "...Forest child..?" he mutters, hissing.
"Come out...triforce thief..."
no subject
He wanted to be ready to fight, but there was only so much he could do. His cards were just paper, in the end. This.... thing didn't seem like the type to stop and duel in a fair fight to let Crow win his way to freedom.
Instead though, he readies himself behind Reiji. He's ran, before, and is physically strong and agile. At the very least, he can dodge and move on his own.
However... Yuuya cannot. He's frail almost, and afraid. He respects Yuuya, but he isn't blind to the reality of the situation they were in. He also fears how Reiji, one of the only two people here with an actual weapon who seems to have a clue what is going on, will be able to fight with Yuuya clinging so tightly.
no subject
He -knows- that person. They're taller, and different, but that's Reiji, the one that snuck him gifts when he thought Yuuya wasn't looking.
But he was different. Something was different and it terrified him, so he turned back into Reiji's shoulder and tried to muffle his sobs in her scarf.
no subject
[She'll fight. She'll fight any way she damn well has to. Even as she scowls at the mirror image, the grown form of the double who had the dark skin of her father, now wearing his demeanor and malice...
She'd fight.]
Forest child? [The question comes out in a hiss, and she looks to the elder Sakaki.] Do you know what he's referring to?
[Hey. Plant Sakaki. Forest child. It works, right?]
no subject
All the same, he narrows his eyes again. "...Besides...I don't have a clue what the 'triforce' is..."
...
"...Surprised he can see an inch personally..."
He shifts somewhat. And the figure in the reflection stops; with alarming skill, he slowly pulls out a bow instead, notching it with an arrow of blue flames. "...........Found you, 'hero'~" He draws--
"Shit."
And fires.
no subject
When he looks around, he prays everyone else is alright, especially Hatsu, who seemed like he was the main target of that arrow.
no subject
Maybe her hand obscuring his hair will help hide Yuuya's identity? Probably not, but still...]
no subject
"GET HIM OUT OF HERE!" Hatsu shouts, another wave slamming against the attacker. "MOVE!"
no subject
"If you're going to fight, give him to me, otherwise, we need to run." Run where though? There was hardly anywhere to go, but at the same time, standing around was far from a desirable option at the moment.
Yuuya was in danger, and he wasn't about to let him get hurt. Not when he was like this.
no subject
He's stopped sobbing, at least, and is just crying silently now, whimpering when he felt how close that arrow came.
no subject
He's not letting go. I won't be, either.
[A quick scowl is sent towards Hatsu's way. You'd better cover her ass sufficiently, Sakaki, if you're going to make her run like this.
Ice forms beneath her feet, and immediately, she begins to skate at her highest speed.]
no subject
But then an arrow flies past him.
"REIJI-!" he shouts without thinking, the arrow nearing her arm. "LOOK OUT-!"
