You're just walking along (or maybe running, or showering, or reading a book, or doing nothing much at all, really), when suddenly...


...you're not where you were before.


In fact, you would appear to be on an island. You might find your exact location familiar; more likely, you will not. All you need to know is this: the island is not so much another world as it is a link between worlds, a place where you could meet people long dead, far into the future, or who, perhaps, appear to be you. Some of them will be helpful, some will not, and some will want to kill you.

But you're here, and you're kind of stuck. Still, it isn't so bad. There are shops, and this place will produce, in limited quantities, most of what you might need (although it doesn't always get it right, and may deign not to produce it at all). As long as you're here, you might as well check out the number of familiar--or entirely unfamiliar--locations that have apparently gathered in this place. From city, to ruin, to the wilds of the world- and the ends of it as well, it seems. A boat might take you from shore to shore of this island, but it certainly won't take you anywhere else; this is the only land for as far as can be imagined.
